  • The jazz program includes instruction in classical jazz. Classical jazz has its own unique and specific movement language and vocabulary. The music and movement can range from energetic and vibrant to soft and soulful. The focus is not only on the technique, but also on the artistry of the movement. Dancers are encouraged to express feelings, ideas and emotions through movement.

  • Tap is an integral part of an expanded dance curriculum. Tap is beneficial in many ways, including increasing cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and coordination. Tap builds strength in the legs and feet as well as increasing flexibility in the hips, knees and ankles. Tap also enhances cognitive abilities.   • The Park City campus is excited to introduce Musical Theatre classes to its students! Classes are an introduction to the Musical Theatre craft, designed to support the participant’s creative expression, and to help them build confidence for the stage!

    Classes are offered in two sections and are by age. Ages 7 to 12 and ages 13 to 18.

    All students enrolled in classes will perform in the Spring Performance. They will also take part in an in studio performance in the first semester.

Dancers will learn to move across all three dimensions, with an emphasis on dynamics and musicality. Movement will be on and off the floor, across various styles of contemporary choreography to different genres of music. Embrace the new, with the evolving movement vocabulary of contemporary dance.

  • Our Men’s Class is designed for male-identifying dancers to be immersed in men’s classical ballet technique and repertoire.

    Students will work weekly with former Ballet West Principal Dancer, Rex Tilton, to build the strength and agility necessary for the male ballet dancer.

    The second hour of class will be focused on repertoire, applying technical elements to choreography from some of the world’s most recognized ballets. Train with other male dancers in this special class created for students ages 10-14.
