Ballet West Academy’s Professional Training Division is designed for serious ballet students, 14 years old and up. The PTD program is comprised of three female and two male levels and is designed to carry students through their high school years.
The Professional Training Division provides 22+ hours per week of dedicated training in various styles to create a well-rounded dancer.
The training schedule is uniquely structured to cater to high school schedules, with classes including technique class, pointe, men’s class, specialized genres (contemporary, flamenco, and other disciplines), and pas de deux.
PTD students participate in Ballet West’s production of The Nutcracker and are eligible to join in other Ballet West productions such as the Family Classic Series and Ballet West’s main subscription series, in addition to participation in the Academy’s Winter and Spring Showcases. Select PTDs participate with Trainees in repertoire including, recently, George Balanchine’s Who Cares, and Divertimento No. 15.
Through sponsorship with Intermountain Healthcare, we have access to a team of providers including Sport's Psychology, Nutrition, and full-time, onsite physical therapy dedicated to the Academy students.
