Dancers worldwide, ages 9-20, are invited to audition, in-person or via video audition, for our 2025 Summer Intensives. Students will be considered for acceptance and potential scholarship to all Ballet West Academy Summer Intensives, including those in partnership with artÉmotion.


Our intensives are designed for serious dancers ages 9-20, who desire individualized instruction in classical ballet. The Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive challenges dancers to improve their ballet technique and study other dance forms that complement classical ballet. Our program offers the unique opportunity for advanced dancers to be considered for Ballet West Academy’s year-round programs at the Salt Lake City, Park City, and Utah County campuses. Auditions are required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

2025 Summer Intensives

3-Week Intensive
June 30 - July 18, 2025

  • Classes will be held Monday-Saturday with the staff of Ballet West Academy Faculty, Ballet West Artistic Staff (featuring Artistic Director, Adam Sklute), Ballet West dancers and renowned guest teachers.

    Start time ranges between 8:45am and 9:00am. End time ranges between 4:15pm and 4:45pm. Saturdays will be abbreviated to guarantee students are getting proper rest on the weekends.

  • Ballet West Ballet Centre, Westminster University, and the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, depending on level assignment.

    The 5-Week Summer Intensive showing will be held at Westminster University on Friday, July 18, 2025.

  • Dancers ages 13-21 (as of the first day of the intensive), are invited to attend, upon acceptance from an in-person or video audition. Audition is required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

5-Week Intensive
June 16 - July 18, 2025

Choreographic Workshop
June 16 - July 18, 2025

  • Dancers will spend the first three weeks as students in the Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive and the final two weeks with artÉmotion. The final two weeks replicate a “company schedule” with a company class and a full-day of rehearsals with guest choreographers.

    Participants take part in a world premiere performance in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 17 & 18, 2025 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.

    Start time ranges between 8:45am and 9:00am. End time ranges between 4:15pm and 5:15pm.

  • Ballet West Ballet Centre, Westminster University, and the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, depending on level assignment.

St. George Intensive
July 21 - August 1, 2025

  • The Ballet West Academy’s Ballet Centre Young Dancer Summer Intensive in Salt Lake City, Utah is a one-week program and will be held at the Jessie Eccles Quinney Ballet Centre.

  • Dancers ages 9-12 (as of the first day of the intensive), are invited to attend, upon acceptance from an in-person or video audition. Audition is required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

Trolley Corners Young Dancer Intensive
June 23 - July 3, 2025

  • Classes will be held Monday-Friday with the staff of Ballet West Academy Faculty.

  • The Ballet West Academy’s Trolley Corners Young Dancer Summer Intensive in Salt Lake City, Utah is a two-week program and will be held at the Trolley Corners campus.

Ballet West Academy is thrilled to present camps for dancers ages 3-14. There is something for everyone: fun themes, a range of age groups, and offerings in three locations. Space is limited for each camp; no audition required.

Next Generation Ballet

  • The best of dance in the region comes together to present a one-week summer camp for dancers August 11 - August 15, 2025. Held at the Jessie Quinney Lawson Ballet Centre in downtown Salt Lake City, this camp will include the best of ballet instruction provided by Ballet West Academy faculty and premiere contemporary instruction and choreography by SALT Contemporary Dance instructors. Designed to launch dancers into the fall with newfound movement and energy, this camp is for dancers ages 12 - 19.

  • Individuals interested in being a Resident Intern for the 2025 Summer Intensives should apply via the link below.  Following the close of the application, virtual candidate interviews will be conducted.  Application will close at 11:59 (MST) on March 1, 2025.  

    Application Requirements

    • Must be at least 18 years old by June 1st 2025.

    • Must be able to lift between 20- 50lbs of Marley for studio and rehearsal spaces.

    • Must complete the Resident Intern Application.

    • Must provide a Cover Letter and 3 references, preferably both personal and work related.  These will be submitted at the end of the application.

    • Must be available for the entire duration of the specific Summer Intensive Program working. Please note: Resident Intern’s are considered on call at all times, except for their bi-weekly night’s off.
